    Help! Decyphering named tunic script

I'm trying to identify the original owner of a Panzer Oberst field service tunic I own. The tunic is named, but I cannot decypher.....can anyone help? Also, what is the ink stamped name? The owner/final garment inspector? Thanks for any help.

That written name is really strange. The written last name (as well as the date) is in Latin script and looks like Reisser. The first name (written last) is in Suetterlin script and is Heinrich. It seems that the last and first names were written by different people! Perhaps the tailor only wrote the last name and the tunic owner wrote the first name???

          Chris:

Thanks so much... I couldn't make "heads or tails" of it. Any idea what the stamped name is? Incidentally, the tunic is for a Panzer Oberst and has badge loops on the right breast...fantastic quality.

            Hi Shawn,

377 hits on Google concerning the name 'Hälßig' but nothing I can connect to your tunic, sorry...
4210 hits if you spell it like Haellssig*, but also here no link to a Panzeroberst.

I did my best, maybe someone else can do more than my best?

            Good luck searching!

            Regards,
            Martin

              Thanks

              Martin:

Thanks for taking the time to do the search. Would the ink stamped name be used to indicate the owner, in your opinion, in lieu of, say, a garment inspector?

I prefer to think it is the owner, as I never saw inspectors using name stamps.
But I am the last one to claim that I've seen everything so correct me if I'm wrong.

There is a third thing that have passed my mind.
There were days that collectors stamped their items with names or a special mark.
This was useful when borrowing items to musea or other collectors for some time.
Maybe this item once belonged to the 'Hälßig Collection'?

                Again: this is speculation.
I am just as curious as you I think...

                    Thanks Ian

                    Ian:

Thanks for taking a crack at it! I've printed off a copy of the Sutterlin alphabet from the internet and still can't figure it out! Incidentally, the tunic has loops for a German Cross and also has an Eastern front ribbon and an EKII spange/ribbon through the buttonhole.

Not that I know of, there most probably will be in the history of 2 Infanterie Division (mot)/12 Panzer Division, however it's best to try and find someone with it!

No idea how long he remained there.....unfortunately difficult as it is a common name!

I'm not at home to check all my references just got a few on CD!
