Cheers, tell me is there any knack to sewing it on by hand and is normal cotton thread comparable to period thread. Id ask my missus but as yet she has no idea I bought another tunic. She is getting too smart with German stuff now and can actually tell the difference between a police and army cap a waffenrock and combat tunic etc
          cheers Robert

My wife hasn't gotten to that point yet...she simply relies on counting the number of tunics and caps in my war room. When a piece arrives I just want to display it...a sort of compulsive truth disorder. If she ever says anything, I simply start counting the number of horses she's acquired.

I have had to have several breast eagles reattached to tunics. Fortunately I found a local tailor who while Lebanese, grew up in Germany. He likes uniforms and does a fine job of hand sewing the eagles on in a professional manner for a reasonable price. He does not sew them through the liner.
