Is the breast eagle even sewn on or is it just resting on the tunic in the photo? Perhaps it is loose and was found in the pocket? There are no shoulder boards, the loops and buttons look fine, the numbered buttons were a pre-war thing (as is this tunic, apparently). Better photos of the collar tabs would be needed to judge if they have been replaced. Is this a tunic you own or one you are looking to buy?

The seller also states that the vest was worn by an obergefreiter at the east front (I know story's )
But could it be that early type vestes like these where worn during the war?
For example: did they all wear M43 tunic's in 1943?

Hi Nick, early pattern tunics were worn throughout the war. There was certainly no wholesale replacement of tunics just because of the introduction of a new pattern.

          Cheers, Ade.

Hi Nick, I would prefer to see more photos of the insignia in particular (I suspect the Litzen might have been replaced?) but the tunic litself looks promising. There is some fading from where the shoulder straps once were. Not really convinced about that EKII ribbon either. Try and get some good pics.

              Cheers, Ade.

You have to forgive me for asking all these question's, but It's the first time I got the cash to spend on a tunic and I wan't it to be good. I also have to addmit, that I don't know anything about uniforms, I'am kinda a noob in that area...

I would relax, take a breath and save a little more money before you jump in. The silver tress on the collar makes him a sergeant, not a senior corporal, so the owners story is wrong as regards to rank. You sould have some fun researching this stuff first. It is very, very easy to buy something and, later, find it is not what you thought it was. Just my advice. good luck!

This is a Thank YOU message for all those who helped me out about stating their opion on the tunic.
I visited the seller today, the tunic is A OK only for the fact that all the insignia are gone, shoulder board's, breast eagle, arm insignia, (the breast eagle wasn't part of the tunic so appeared)
So I'am saving my money till a better offor apears on the horizon...

                      Anyway thx everybody to help...
