    Schützenschnur first grade

    Hello,
I was thinking on buying this Schützenschnur. I only see no remains of the rayon strip at the back. Would that mean, that this is a replica?

    Thanks!

          Hello,
          Thanks a lot!

It only just got sold. Atleast I learned more about these.
I case someone has this same type for sale, just let me know!

          Thanks!

The Schutzenschnurr was introduced in June 1936. This Grade 1 shield was modified in Jan 39 to a new shield design. Prior to Jun 37, the lanyards did not have a protective backing. Therefore, your example would be an early Marksmanship Lanyard.

The lining along the back of the lanyard was probably added to keep wear down on both the lanyard and the tunic.
