That's correct, the old style km tunic had a stand up collar. The closeable collar i haven't seen before on white km jackets, also haven't seen it in books.

I know the style you are referring to Tex..I found a foto of some on WAF,,But I still cant find a match for this jacket. The neck hooks on this are gold and do not appear altered in anyway. I have been searching all day for a match,,Heer or KM

if it weren't for the pristine fabric and the rear vent which lacks buttons and has a strange design, i'd say it was just a heer jacket with KM buttons on it. i'm not really sure what to make of it. i wish more people could offer opinions on it.

here is a KM white jacket that i am more familiar with:
                    http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...light=KM+white

note the angular shape of the pockets, the number of buttons down the front, the lack of arching rear seams and lack of lower rear split vent, and the collar.

on the other hand, here is a heer summer jacket, which yours more closely resembles (except for the buttons and the rear vent/button configuration):

                        Dion,
I have seen that exact same jacket being worn, by a waiter at the Royal Livingstone hotel in Zambia. By the way I received the Easten Front medal packet, thanx. Jacques

I got a reply from someone off Uboat.net...

                            Hallo Dion,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
I had a good look at the white tunic you sent and compared it to some of my uncles.<o></o>
                            <o> </o>
The shoulder boards look authentic Kriegsmarine a Kapitänleutnant Communications Officer.<o></o>
The old style white jacket (choker) from 1929 to 1937 had the same 2 hooks but a rounder mult stitched collar with at the most 6 front buttons. Eight buttons seems odd to me. The pockets seem close to this old style. <o></o>
                            <o> </o>
In December 1937 the regulations went to the new lapel collar with 4 front buttons. The buttons look genuine to me without seeing the printing on the back side. If you need the regulation numbers let me know.<o></o>
                            <o> </o>
There were many suppliers of uniforms so it is possible that this is a uniform worn by a communication officer in the 30’s. I would not suggest this is a post war uniform.<o></o>
                            <o> </o>
What is the history of this uniform to you? And what is your intended purpose for it?<o></o>
                            <o> </o>
What part of Deutschland are you from?<o></o>
                            <o> </o>
                            With Kind Regards,<o></o>

Not a KM tunic, only six buttons for the old style.
