shoulder strap slide for signals

I purhased these unissued signal m44 shoulder straps for an enlisted man. With them came these unit slides with a Capital A. What unit did they represent? I was told it was intelligence within signals. Can anyone be of assistance/ Jacques

If I read my Angolia correctly, the Latin A is for either:

Signal Intelligence Replacement Bn.

or

Signal Long Distance Intelligence Platoons, Pemanent Signal Intelligence Installations

I see two different transaltions for intelligence:

das Auffassungsvermögen

die Aufklärung

I am not sure if they apply in this case.
