The buttons are the type common on repros. These are not the buttons usually found on authentic Luft. tropical shirts.

The large button at the collar is an absurd joke!

                  Hi Pierre,

As I think you already know, the long sleeve is original, and the buttons on it are not the same as the buttons on the other shirt you posted.

Yes John. The first shirt comes from a show but I continue to think that the shirt itself is good but that someone added the buttons (but I also thought first that the brown buttons, in glass, could be genuine) and an eagle. My concernes were about the eagle only. Anyway, thank you

I concur...,I think the shirt is OK,the large button probably replaced just like the other buttons and the eagle re-applied..
If you watch closely you can see the holes of the first/original eagle IMO.

                        Jos.

Hi John, I do agree that the eagle and buttons are questionable and most probably replaced post war, but what are your feelings regarding the shirt its self and its stampings?

                          Regards,

                            Hi Pierre, Jos and Tony,

Perhaps the shirt is original. I would have to hold it to know for certain. But the eagle and the buttons are not WW II. For me, this makes the shirt restorable if authentic, but not desirable. If you saw the near perfect reproductions of Luftwaffe tropical clothing at the Max and SOS you would be shocked at just how accurate they are. Once these reproductions are worn and faded, many collectors will be fooled by them. Heck, many were at the SOS anyway. I believe Willi posted a thread on one of the tunics. As this shirt, all that tunic needs is a correct eagle and some wear, and the entire piece is then "good."

It's a pity there're less opportunities to study these new items..
I hope they still show some errors more or less.
Well, let's wait till these items show up so we can see some detailed pics.

                                Jos.
