Thanks Gene. These are not in my collection but can you point out what exactly you see that tips the scale to the negitive?

The Observer badge is typical of current embroidered Luftwaffe badges where they just can't seem to perfect the eagle (the little things I look for I won't divulge here). The eagle on the driver's proficiency badge too is not as symmetrical as an original, in my opinion. The gull device on the air raid warning personnel badge lacks the curves you'd normally see (genuine ones look like an upside down mustache).

I just spotted.....

.....this thread. The only one of these that I can reply to is the driver's proficiency badge. The one that Jos shows is an almost perfect twin to mine. The difference between the one I have and the one Jos illustrates is that mine has braided wire about the edge.

I will post images a bit later this evening.

While not visible in my images, the horizontal, single threads that dilineate the upper/inner feathering of the wing, that are visible on the example shown by Jos, are nevertheless there. I hope that my description of that detail has been stated correctly.
