Panzer general Rudolf Veiel tunic on ebay.

    Hey,

What do people think about this one?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I don't know much about tunic so I thought I would ask.
Isn't that a pretty good price if it's real?

    Cheers,
    David

The operative word being "if it's real" Any pip experts out there? They don't seem right to me. It would be interesting to see what it sold for in 1988...

      Caution if Buying

I purchased a white summers general tunic that was sold by Herman Historical Auction and advertised as such. The tunic appeared pre1945, but the eagle, shoulder boards were post 1945. It looked like an officer's tunic put together to appear as a general's tunic. I didn't loose that much money since the pants it came with were authentic. So basically what I'm saying just becaused the seller is stating it is original based on the auction house, it would not be enough insurance for me to drop that much money. Price wise it is a little steep. Acouple years ago it would have gone for $2000-$2500 I assume now it is worth $3000 to $4000, based on the current demand (prices have just been crazy lately). I think the bottom line is to make sure it is as advertised so I would ask for better pictures and a guarantee. It is a lot of money to throwing away if it is not authentic. Just my opinion.

I agree with most of what you said, but I would submit that it may have sold for $2000- $2500 about 10 years ago and IF original I think that $4000 is near the bottom of the price scale. Many dealers would/are charging twice (or more) that right now.
