please help me to ID this uniform

Hi Guys,

a friend sent me this pic from his Family album.
I can´t ID the uniform.
The shoulder boards look like a Sanitäts Oberfeldwebel,
the collar tabs look like a SS Rottenführer,
the sleeve eagle is unfortunately cut.

Can anybody help me???

I'd say it's a unit number "2" on the = Oberfeldwebel straps.

It also looks to me like there is only ONE tab stripe on his right side, and TWO on his left-- widely spaced enough so that even if the "gap" wasn't showing on the far one, it should look "wider" for the braid if these were matching tabs.

If that is not a thumbprint or something on his upper left sleeve, it looks to me like the border of one of those "Schuma" auxiliary police insignia-- the ones with the stretched swastika in the middle and "Treu Tapfer Gehorsam" around between the swastika and wreath.


If he was some sort of Werkschutz... not those shoulder straps?

I think it's possible that there are two stripes on both tabs - it may just be the angle. As for the strap devices - in some instances two devices were worn, one above the other. And I agree with Rick, that does look like a police-type sleeve eagle. Perhaps some type of 'Eastern Peoples' uniform?

The Family had no idea what kind of service this guy was doing in WW2. Typical for the easter part of Germany plenty of the WW2 survivors didnt speak a lot about that time.
