    Waffenrock Board

I am hopng that someone will be able to tell me what the attached board is for. I think it is for the 1st company 2nd regiment of the school for artificers (artillery technicians?), but have been told it may be for an army motor school. Haven't seen one quite like it and am wondering if it is scarce.

    thanks in advance.

Hi Briani, welcome to the forum

I think that is indeed a rare item. Have you seen seen this article on the forum?

That looks like a gothic WS+2 on red - if that is the case it is for the Armorer School No. 2 (Waffenmeisterschulen). The Army Motorizing School ciphers are gothic MS on pink and Artificer Personnel are gothic FS+# on red.

Those straps are very scarce and a waffenrock with those straps even more so! Can you post pictures of the entire waffenrock?

Thanks for the comments Ade and Thomas. The waffenrock appears depot issued in 38 and is in reasonably good shape. One button missing, a little separation in the lining and a bit of grazing, but liabilities I can live with.

I'll try to post some photos a little later on.

        Cheers,
        Brian

Interesting & Uncommon to see that style of piping (as used on the boards) on a pre war tunic.

Quite a rare tunic. I have several straps with metal WS devices, but have yet to find an embroidered example.

As you know, I am always looking to provide company to the boards in my present meagre collection. If you, Thomas or Ade have any (pairs or lonely singles) requiring a good home, please let me know....

                              Cheers,
