    The different green pipings

Can someone show examples of the differences in the green pipings of the various branches such as Gebirgsjäger, Administrative, Panzergrenadier, Jäger, etc.? Is there a difference between Jäger and Panzergrenadier?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few with Jaeger and Gebergsjaeger being the same branch colour.

Thank you Glenn! This helps clear things up. I was most curious about the Jäger piping color. I was looking at a Jäger piped Waffenrock and couldn't tell in the photos if the piping color was one I didn't already have in my collection. Here is the piping on my Gebirgs Waffenrock.

              Waffenfarbe

The age old question for headgear, uniform, and insignia collectors! There will be variations by manufacturer and also materials that were available. Look at Angolia & Schlicht's first volume on German Army uniforms. On page 308-309, you will see a color chart for Waffenfarbe; notice how close some of the shades for Jaeger, Gebirgsjaeger & Panzer Gren. are. In Bob Edward's (aka Panzer Bob) & Mike Pruett's excellent (shameless unsolicited plug) , Field Uniforms of German Army Panzer Forces in World War 2 , and you will see examples of a Panzer Grenadier officer wearing Gebirgs collar tabs.

                Examples

One of the reasons that I enjoy collecting cyphered & numbered pieces, is that it helps to confirm the unit and you can see the color that was actually used. Here is a piece from Panzer Grenadier Rgt. 64 of the 16th Panzer divison. The piece is an example of the use of meadow green; the lime green seems to have been more prevalent.
