Wear of Officer Silver Flatwire Breast Eagle

    Hello, All -

I came across a Piped Field Service Tunic for a Wehrmachtbeamten in the rank equivalen tof an Oberleutnant on eBay.de. It has a flatwire breast eagle. Could this be correct? I thought bullion was the order of the day for Waffenrocks and piped tunics.

    As always, any help appreciated!

    Breast Eagle

Is this possible? I have learned to never say never with TR uniforms. Yes, it is possible although highly unusual.

Another explanation may be that the original bullion BE was removed roughly and this BE was applied to restore the tunic and cover up the bad area.

Thanks, Tim. I wondered the same thing. I have not seen any period photos of a flatwire eagle on a Waffenrock or a piped tunic, so I thought I would ask the assembled cognoscenti here...

It didnt matter either or could be worn flatwire often were used by NCO ranks on dress tunics but I see no problem with a flatwire on an officers dress tunic.
