    Mac,

Very nice and IMHO a rare windbluse. There are plenty of prewar and wartime pics of it being worn. Now trying to find one is another story.Regards Jim

Maybe one of the GJ specialists will dig in and provide more info. Truthfully yours is the only 2 pocket version I've ever seen other then in wartime pictures.

I would love to see a pic of the zippered one. Would be interesting to see if its a issue piece or possible field made/commercial. Commercial items were worn by soldiers in the field. Heres a pic of a snow shirt in my collection along with some wartime pics of a similar shirt.

                Grüß Gott Jim,

The Jacket in the wartime photos and your collection is an Italian Aipini Wind Jacket which seems to have been popular amoung Gebirgstruppe also. I have seen many photos of guys wearing them.

                    Jim,

There is also a white version of the Alpini Windbluse.

Here is a wartime photo of an early Windbluse that is similar to one that MAC posted, but has a longer front drawstring closure.

i show a pic of the bluse this evening, but the version i'm talking of is again a different to the ones shown here...
the bluse looks more like mine, but it got a zip from the bottom to the top
and i don't think, that these jackets were fieldmade, cause on the photo 4 of the 5 shown montaintroopers wear exactly the same jacket (the 5. one wears a regular windjacket)

but the photo will come this day i promise
