I also think all the insignia is authentic. Must add though that I prefer a swas. made from thicker wire like Willi's examples. The thin wire in your example is a bit unusual IMO.

Interesting observation John......both my original and repro swaz does have better detail than Jos's.....as you mentioned a heavier style.

The cap isn't mine,but I can have it for a fair price.
As John said,the wire looks kind of loose,but I've searched the books for these eagles and found a few with the same feature.
The eagle looks good to me though.
The cap is nice but the lining shows wear and came loose at some places....I can fix it.
Price I've to pay is about $ 150.-,I think I'll take it..!
Thanks for the pics,Willi,so that's a Jancke cap,looks convincing for the unknown.
If I ever have the cap I'll show better pics !

Hi All,
I'm sorry, I just don't like the hat, it just doesn't look right to me. I just think something is not correct, one of the things is that the interior is screwed up and the outside shows no wear. It is a red flag to me. The thing looks too new to me, but I'm no expert and it is just my opinion. Thanks for letting me see the pics,Terry K.

Honestly Jos, $150 is dirt cheap for an officer's cap. I would really check it out closely. Nice EM hats bring that much and more. Terry has a valid concern. A loose lining means alot of use.

How can you tell the condition of the inside and outside from so small a pic? Is this cap offered for sale on a website somewhere, or are there more pics posted in another forum?

in the photo with the overseas hat? Especially the rivets. At least I'm guessing it's an M41. Please? Thanks.
