Just Found Huge Hoard of Insignia

Just found in a local antique store a huge lot of mainly german army insignia, this I have been told was used as packing at the end of WWII or just after as packing for a silver candlearbara sent from germany to the UK and probably the insignia now is worth more money than the antique item sent. As I seem to have acquired slightly more of each item than I need (just couldn't resist it) I will be putting some of the stuff on E stand

Very cool find, and ironical about the packing story.

Looks like the prices on Oberschutz patches & officer's medical shoulders boards are going to hit rock bottom pretty soon!

                    Great find!

Funny you should mention that. A collector here in Texas got a uniform of GFM von Kleist because the GI that brought it back used it to wrap von Kleist's shotguns that he was "liberating". In retrospect you have to ask the question "what were you thinking!!!!????"

The lesson for us today - when chatting with vets and they show you the piece of junk art work they swiped during the war be sure to ask about the wrapping material they used to ship it home!

                      Cheers, Bill Huber

Stunning find Paul Such a find makes your day! Are there any coastal artillery patches in this lot and are they for sale?

                          Greetings,

                          Frans
