    Oberstleutnant Ewald Heinrici

All, I had posted this before, but I put it up on a new mannequin and loved the look. Enjoy.

    Don

Ewald Heinrici served in IR. 62 in the First World War and was Kommandeur of I./84 IR in 1939 as a Major dR, winning the Spangen to his WWI Iron Crosses. After that, he apparently transitioned to Panzergrenadier units and served in training role, getting secnded to the HG Dvision on Sicily, where he was court-martialled and beat the rap. After that, he was in Führer Reserve and replacment units until the end. . Heinrici died in Soviet captivity in July 1945.

He had an interesting career: https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...-beurteilungen

Such a great display an the historical info and research on it, congratulations! Many years ago, I watched a show on the Sicilian Campaign and General James Gavin of the 82nd Airborne was on it. If, I remember correctly, he spoke of an HG commander being dismissed because of his performance and I always assumed that it was the divisional commander; which, I could make sense of. Perhaps that was Obstlt. Ewald?
