BEVO Sniper Qualification Badges For Review

I saw these today at a little military shop in Milford Delaware. They are made out of rayon and passed the burn test. Do they have a chance? All opinions welcome. Regards, Ron.

Bundeswher period patches. Nothing in common with the wartime specimens.

Bundeswehr awarded TR pattern sniper badges? Really?

Not sure the Bundeswehr had any sniper kills. I have always considered these reproductions.

Currently, we do not have a single guaranteed and 100% confirmed sniper sign. Therefore, for me it is just reproductions.

                For sure not

Those are just repros from the 70s, they never made them in this materials and construction

Not sure BW didn't use a snipet patch.
I remembered it was not wartime compatible, due to the shape and the type of patch; my memory is gettin' old, so it doesn't serve always right!

Anyway, here what I found with a quick serach in my files, I'm not BW expert at all, so, if anyone could integrate, that would be nice.

Can you show the whole text? So far i can make out "not instituted... not allowed to be worn on uniform..."

Correct. Fantasy items which go back 40-50 years. My father then collected sniper items......I was just a teenager.

                          A discussion on a Bundeswehr Forum;

                          https://www.bundeswehrforum.de/forum...pic,511.0.html

This book published in 1989 only makes brief mention of postwar badges. You would think they would recognize these BEVO badges, since they discuss BW patches (up to 1989, which the above patch predates). A quick check of Army-Navy online shops in Germany presents all types of a newer style of badges, but no indication they are official. Nonetheless they are not like the BEVO ones which can be found all over.

My comments referred to the machine woven insignia in the original post. Those patches, I believe, are reproductions of the WWII era sniper awards which indicated kills. Whether the Bundeswehr employed a similar insignia as a sharpshooter qualification, I have no idea.

I know this badge is/was worn unofficially by some snipers of the Bundeswehr, but it was never official.

Since about 2018 there's now an official sniper qualification clasp (Tätigkeitsabzeichen/spange) which is mentioned in the Zentralvorschrift A1-2630/0-9804). The clasp exists in 3 grades, but these refer to qualification and years of service as a sniper. Certainly not for the number of achieved kills...

I've started to collect sniper documents again recently and hope to add some nice badges in the future...

                              Cheers,
                              Markus.
