A tell of two tunics.. opinions?

Hello Gents,

I have narrowed my search down to these two M42 combat tunics. The #1st tunic looks to be in a bit rougher condition but looks to have original applied insignia.The obvious demerit would be for the insect damage throughout ($1200). The nicer tunic (#1) has a confirmed reapplied eagle ($1495).

I'm really wanting opinions on weather either would be a good choice, considering price. I also do not want to be stuck with something I can't sell later down the road if I have to.

Thoughts???

Since both tunics have different drawbacks or "problems" and you have the concern about being able to sell a tunic if necessary I would suggest continuing looking and sooner or later you will find one that meets our needs at a good price. I cannot see an advantage that either of these tunics offers. Don't be in a hurry.

Pauke- first off, thanks for the response. What I’m trying to get an idea of, is what should I expect to spend in this market for a good respectable tunic?

I don't really know what market values are and can only say check out reputable dealers' sites and keep an eye on what's offered here on the forum. Virtual Grenadier's site would be a good one to start with.

Honestly I think the current owners of the second tunic assume the eagle is reapplied because it is stitched through the lining.

Nice tunics,prices dont seem to bad considering the prices out there online ...i am looking for an M42 or M43 also..i just picked up a converted M41 to M36 for around 8 and a nice M36 for 1k with bad tabs ,guy also had a gaberdine officers tunic for 8 but i have one of those...i like the "issue" tunics. Any out there for a good price please let me know...always looking when the old lady is'nt !!! lol
