    Breast eagle application HBT

    Hi guys
First post on the updated forum. Have two HBT jackets and was wondering about the application of the eagles. Both are sewn differently, the first isn’t seen through the lining
    both are unissued
    thanks

Both eagles look replaced to me.

The second eagle Looks to have been applied to the tunic prior to the lining been sewn on

Be good if you can post some pics of how the tabs have been sewn on for a comparison

Here are a few more photos as requested
These were taken inside so I apologize for the lightning.
the one with the partially detached collar is from the cross stitched eagle
          thanks

Count me as a "no" on both eagles. The zig-zag is bunched up and sloppy on the one and the hand sewing (which is almost unheard of on these HBT jackets) looks amateurish to me.

Have to agree with Glenn and OSS, both look like post war applications. Whether it goes through the liner or not ONLY matters when it is machine sewn, it has no relevance for hand applied eagles, like the second one here.

I dont think they have a chance at being original sewing i have a few examples but all are better than the ones shown but the tunics are nice examples

                  Thanks guys
I might put one up for sale at some point but just want to make sure I describe it as accurately as possible
