    EM's Private Purchase M36 Tunic

    Dear All,

I would like to share pics of a private purchase M36 tunic from an Obergefreiter der Artillerie. The interesting thing about it is that it sports features from both EM and Officer style tunics.

I hope you'll enjoy the pics, and would like to encourage all who have private purchase EM M36 tunics to post pics.

    Best regards,

    Albert

Detailed view of the chest. There are loops for a bigger field clasp and for one badge. The pocket and shoulder board buttons are smaller than the ones on the front. The collar is of the officer type featuring two hooks in the front and studs around the collar.

The shoulder boards are sewn in. the collar tabs are of the parade variety, and the Obergefreiter chevron is backed by field grey wool. The eagle is of the flat wire type.

The bottom pockets are of the typical EM baggy style.

The sleaves have the typical EM cut:

And here is a close up of the most visible "officer feature"; the other one being the absence of the four sets of three holes for the belt support hooks, and the full lining:

Nice tunic! I take it that this was not a combat tunic?

Paul, no, this was his walking out uniform while at home.

                        That is one nice tunic!

Is it perhaps a dress uniform's collar sewn in?

What I really like is the EM cuff button and the eyelet. Nice detail. I wish I had one hanging around here like that...
