A YBB HBT Tunic. Note the solid color sew in shoulder straps. This came from the old collection on the West Coast where all the unissued late tropical tunics appeared and all the tropical caps that are around. It was originally bought in a NYC rag shop in the 1950s.

        Nutmeg,

It is interesting that ther breast insignia is sewn on upside down. I have seen this in original photos as it appears there was confusion as to the correct application of the insignia.

The right shoulder strap is made differently from the left. It is longer with two button holes. Not sure why, maybe to allow a cap to be worn across the shoulder. It is made this way, not a field alteration. Jacket is dated 44.

Fantastic tunic!!! Thank you for sharing it with us. Is it possible to see close up photos of the collar tabs and the shield?

P.S. What kind of uniform is this? Is this a typical German HTB uniform or some locally produced one?

Pictures to follow later tonight. Looks like typical German markings(very light) but the shoulder straps were sewn in when the tunic was manufactured.

The Turkistan legion tunic originally posted by Glenn, at the beginning of this thread, is in my collection now. This is my favorite piece. I've posted the tunic several times, but like Jim, I love to show it off whenever possible

I like this type of shield, it is the style you see in most the early pictures of these guys as opposed to the Bevo type. Wonderful tunic!

Thank you very much Nutmeg! Its interesting to see that the tridents for the collar tabs came form the police cockades.
