    Just some Jäger insignia variants

    Stuck inside with snow in May, so here's a grouping that I've been working on for the past 8 months or so. Someday I may catch up with Fred, but it's unlikely! I think all of the variations make these really interesting pieces. Hope you enjoy.

            Do the different colored wreaths mean anything in particular (i.e., particular unit)? What was the particular meaning of the jager badge? Are jagers like light infantry units?

                When I was in the Army I was told the difference between Infantry and Light Infantry is that they took your trucks and gave you a bigger rucksack.


                The wreath color is just that, color. I has no meaning. This patch is for the Jaeger or Hunter. They were a Light Infantry. They originated in late 41 early 42, at least with the 5. Jaeger Division.
