    Banner for Companies Sponsering NSDAP??

    View Fritz Kiehn Banner
    What it says:
    Die Gefolgschaft der Firma
    Efka-Werk Fritz Kiehn

    This is what I know:
Fritz Kiehn is the name of the company and of the man who started it. The company was most known for manufacturing cigarette rolling papers.

Fritz Kiehn, the man, was a huge Nazi supporter. He supported Hitler financially and was an early supporter and member of NSDAP.

    This is what I think:
This banner was given to companies who finacially supported NSDAP.

    Questions:
    Is this right?
    Was it displayed?
How do I verify it's authentic?
    What is its value?

It's actually the tail end of a funeral wreath ribbon--I would assume it was given at the funeral of an employee or associate of the company.

      Erich,

You say it's the tail end - what is missing? I've never seen a wreath ribbon. Is there somewhere that you know of that I can learn more about them? Do you know if this has any value since it is not "whole"?

The entire ribbon/sash would be between 4 and 5 feet long, depending on the size of the original wreath. There was generally another swastika or eagle and/or wording at the other end as well. These are frequently found cut off like this--the family of the deceased would not keep the whole wreath, but only the printed part of the ribbon. The value IMO would be somewhere around $45.00-50.00 for a piece like this--possibly slightly more to a tobacco related item collector.
