    K.P.E.V. Train eagle

    Hi all,

I had the chance recently to visit the Tech & Science Museum in Berlin, and I saw one
of their preserved engines with the K.P.E.V. Eagle motif (Koenigliche Preussische
Eisenbahnverwaltung) still attached, and I thought it might be of some interest
to post a couple of photos up here on the WAF as they don't seem to get too
much exposure compared to the WW2 train eagles.

First lot of photos are of one that I was able to contribute to the superb book on
train eagles by Wim Saris, on page 82 of his book....

          Nice flag photos & info.

The flag of the President of the Republic is an official state symbol,
enacted in 1993, which identifies the seat of the President and the
means of transport in which he travels. Since the days of President
Masaryk, it has flown over Prague Castle, and is now only taken down
in the case of a presidential journey abroad, or if the office of
the head of state is vacant. The appearence of the flag of the
President of the Republic follows from the tradition of the first
republic and was created in 1920 for T.G. Maysaryka.
