Weimar Era Flag Pole Finial ? ? Real ? ?

I rather doubt that this Weimar pole topper is authentic but better safe than sorry.

This piece exhibits many casting flaws including pock marks, unnatural twists, an uneven matching of the two halves, and casting flash.

Flash photography shows this was once silver washed.

Shouldn't this top have two sections? The pole cup should be screwed onto a threaded stud/ornamental section. Looks like this is one solid molded piece.

It's a Reichsbanner top but hard to tell if it's an original. The remains of silver wash might be a good sign. It may just be a not so well made period piece.

IMO, a poor quality cast copy of another multi-part
Weimar eagle original - see (2011) WAF t=523300 info.

Agreed, a poorly cast reproduction in my opinion as well.

              Thank you all.

It is a poor cast with all the visible pitting on the pole area, as well as the details.
                I agree with OFW.
