IMO, a well done reproduction, but 48x86
is a fake size & date marking too. 1939 KM-FB
lists correct sizes as 40x65cm, 50x85, 80x135,
100x170, 150x250 for their plate III as shown
"Handelsflaqge mit dem Eiseren Kreuz" flag.

Online seller listing provides the following info.
Description: "Scarce Third Reich flag, 34" x 18",
constructed of red cotton with a white bunting
disk bearing a separately-sewn black mobile
swastika at center. A partially-embroidered "Iron
Cross" symbol is sewn on at the upper left canton.
This variant was utilized by some German merchant
ships during the Third Reich era. The hoist is formed
by separate strip of white fabric, folded over the
edge and sewn, and containing a white cotton rope.
This hoist is also marked by the maker, "Bonner
Fahnenfabrik", with the address "Bonn Postfach
344", the date "1943", and the size in centimeters
"48x86". Shows some minor soiling, else very good."

PS/ Per "wmtf" t=427262 list entry #3d and #3e, the

I watched this online auction, and someone got this nice fake for the bargain price of $360.

Total with buyers premium = $418.20; some unfortunate buyer spent a lot of money on a fake due to lack of research.
