thank you very much. It was misspelling, instead of flag in the title I meant drawing or a vector image.

What is a vector image - is that a bit mapped (BMP) data file format? In any case I'll see what I can find for you in my reference files, but to send you anything I would need to have you send me a direct email to ---> oldflagswanted(at)att.net

OldFlagsWante d.com

Yes, a superb original example! And the rest of the referenced previously posted thread about same was a real pleasure to view too. I do wonder just how many actually survived WW2 out of those presented before 1939, and what the specific unit flags are in the Moscow and Polish musem collections?

OldFlagsWanted.com

an old thread also showing my Infantry Fahnen...

                John:
I looked thru more old W-A Forum threads, and was delighted to run across a period view showing my III/Inf.Rgt.19 Fahnen being trooped onto the Munich Koniglichen Platz, likely on 20 April 1937, almost nearly some 68 years ago now! My flag, being the third battalion, is the one on the far right.

                  Hi Ben,

Wow that is awesome to know which flag is yours. How much do you know about that photo and how can you tell the one on the right is the III/Inf Reg 19? Besides that picture I have about a dozen others in the series but don't know anything else about them besides what was told to me on the thread you got that from. Can you tell me more?

Also how is your fahnen displayed? You aren't by chance one of the few priviledged collectors that has one on a pole are you?

Also do you have any swallowtail fahnens?

By the way, I guess I must be looking at your fahnen every day since I use the above picture as the wallpaper on my computer screen.

                    John:
The 19th Infantry is the senior unit of the pre-WW2 German 7th Army Corps, and as such had the up front honor position in their Army Corps parades. Each Infantry regiment has three battalion flags, so the first battalion of the 19th is on the left, 2nd battalion front center, and thus my third battalion flag is on the far front right. You can see another photo on page 55 of the 1975 Davis 3rd Reich Flag book, with the photo caption saying that it was General der Artillery Von Reichenau who presented the new flags on the Kings Plaza in Munich on c.20 April 1937. Usually, it was Hitler himself who presented the new Army unit flags, but it is likely that he passed on doing same in this case since it was members of the 19th Regiment that fired on his 1923 Putsch, with oddly enough the dead martyrs from same buried just behind this parade. But the 19th did end up with the "LIST" cuff title honor - which commemorated Hitler's Bavarian Army unit commanding officer in WW1.
