    Flag Top for Review

    Hi All,

Not my area of expertise so posting here for opinions. Is this one legit? Ignore the price sticker- a friend bought it at an estate sale for much less. I can get request more pictures if necessary. Would there be any markings on a piece like this?

    Thanks!

    Hello pw:
    IMO, a 1930's authentic top,
    based on details shown, missing
saucer & pole cup sections. Eagle
1P part would not have markings.

I always look for clearly defined talons. The talons on repros tend to be washed out or even non-existent. I also look for clearly defined acorns in the wreath.

          Hum??? Rough surface,
          with some blobs has me
          now wondering. These
          more clear close views
          now cast doubt on it.

Looks rough to this guy. I'd steer clear.

An overt 1P fake NSDAP top often has
lots of wreath blobs, other casting flaws,
              and even
              "silly" added fake markings.

Cast copy with weak details and porosity.
