SS Baby Factory Flag ???

Does anyone have an idea what this WW2 German made flag was for?

OldFlagsWanted.com

Hi Oldflags, I have never seen anything like it before?

I would say that it is certainly not Lebensborn related though. I would go more with RAD or FAD due to the spade emblem?

    Cheers, Ade.

      flag

I thought the Lebensborn homes had the normal SS house flag and the flag of the Reich outside.

Ade: This odd c.WW2 flag has a nice Bonner Fahnenfabrik Bonn makers label and is the same shade of black, same material, and same construction, as my SS lightning bolt barracks flag, so thus the thought that it was maybe SS too? Also the center emblem is an upside down universal female symbol, but who knows what it stands for during the 3rd Reich? In any case the flag made for an interesting table cover for my SS unit flag display at our local recent San Francisco California Bay Area Militaria (BAM) Show held yesterday.

OldFlagsWanted.com

You would think that if the Lebensborn were to use symbols at all, it probably would have been the runic symbol for life.

Maybe your flag is for a lesbian gardening group?

          (just kidding)

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

Mark: Pretty good! I also got an email from another collector saying "I have never seen a SS Flag like that one. Maybe it was a special Egyptian Work Unit for the SS. The spad for labor corp and the onk for good luck and hoping maybe they would not get shot by the SS." In any case the ID of this one remains a real challenge!

OldFlagsWanted.com

Could also be FAD related, or a Christian group. That's not an Ankh.

Erich: Could be just about anything at this point, but certainly with the shovel head it is some kind of a Nazi era labor service type flag, SS or whatever? The center symbol has that teutonic SS looks to it, and especially with that all black background color. Regarding Nazi Christian flags, I note that their corner patch unit/local flags are red with the swastika in the center of the Christian cross as follows...

OldFlagsWanted.com
