    Various Schellenbaum Pieces

    Good Morning Gents,

I was approached with various Schellenbaum pieces. Wanted some opinions as I don't come across these types of pieces all too often. The bell has some significant dents and the soldering of the SS runes and Swastika are questionable. Unfortunately, I don't have better pictures. I'm checking to see of anyone has seen this design before. Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Here is one I had at one time but sold to an SS collector. The difficult part is finding the eight foot long square steel pole on which the parts slide.

Very nice starburst JoeW! The one presented to me looks more like the one Ed posted in post# 5. However, the SS runes look different. You just never know if someone took a modern day version and braze welded a swastika and SS runes to it. I hate to be so cynical... He has the pole as well, but again, how do you really know it's period? Would there be any indicators on the pole to tell?

I can attest to the fact that such things have been done. I acquired my police Schellenbaum in the 1980s without stars or small bells. I found a company in Germany that was manufacturing Schellenbaums and I purchased the necessary pieces for mine. I have pictures of two post war schellenbaums that were combined into an "NSDAP" schellenbaum used to dupe a collector out of his excellent blade collection in a trade. Is the pole threaded at the end for the eagle/cap piece? Is the handle wood or metal?
