    Reichs Kriegs Flag 100 X 170

    Hi Folks:

I recently picked up this Reich Kriegs flag 100 X 170 by "Plutzar & Bruedt K.G. Bielitz O/S"....there is a red ink stamp ? and a number "6"...there is some moth tracking....which doesn't distract and two minor stains (yellow).

                Hello Edelweisse:
IMO a WW2 authentic RKF, listed in WAF "wmtf" t=427262
                as maker 13 = Plutzar & Brull K.G., Bielitz O/S. A
                maker with
                a rarity ranking of "
A" = "Often seen". As such, and also based
on poor condition (has holes) so valued at less than $500 USD.
                ..... OFW .....

OFW.....thank you for your comments. Question: w/o a KM stamp are you saying it's KM based upon size? Another question: What is the red stamp...proof or accepts stamp? I looked at it and I think it's a "CM" Tks for ballpark value

Although hard to see, the red stamp
is likely the late war KM stamping.

I wonder why the M stamp was changed from the eagle version? War time austerity?

Good question...why the change? Bottom line...I wouldn't have know unless OFW didn't tell me.

IMO eagle M stamp was applied before
the rope was added - as noted by
no wing distortion where rope curves
                              header.

Late in the war the less wide two circle
figure 8 stamp allowed the KM inspector
stamp application as a last factory step.
