Yes true but the destruction of so many means that they are especially rare and expensive nowadays.

Yes, one of the DE swastikas in the Munich
Führerbau storage room photo has been
G.I. soldier stomped on. I've seen several
DE tops missing same - one even walked by
my Great Western Show table years ago.

Photo caption from the page 431 of the
            1997 U/B DE book (ISBN 0-912138-69-6)
reads "One of the storage rooms in the
basement of the Verwaltungsbau in July
1945. The photograph was taken by the
"MFA & AS" [U.S. Forces Monuments Fine
Arts & Archieves Service] shorty after
they moved into the Verwaltungsbau and
            F
ührerbau. Note the mess left by a
multitude of various looters. An SS
            "DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHE" Standard lies
on the floor, its cloth looted. The standard
which was probably too much trouble to
take had the swastika smashed. Another
standard, partially hidden by a frame to
the left of the photograph, has also had
its cloth looted. The staff has been broken
and the finial and box lie against the wall.
            "

I wonder who got the boxes and poles? Probably one of the monument men.

Thanks for your response, OFW. God only knows how much stuff was destroyed or thrown away as trash from the tunnels and storage rooms which connected the Führerbau and the Verwaltungsbau with the Brown House and the Temples of Honor. It's possible that that was where the Blood Flag was stored...

                        Hello Brother James,

I wouldn't be surprised if the Blood Flag turned up one day from an old rusty box. As discussed many times over, the particular nicks, cuts, stains, tears can identify the flag as it is. I have a feeling that Jakob knows but was sworn to secrecy. It might still be in Germany, in Russia or in Latin America. Perhaps only the staunchest soldier was trusted with this task and my feeling is such that Jakob would know a thing or two; well removed before the bombing of the Brown House.

The boxes are probably still there in the basement on top of some pipes!
