Hi Matt, as you say, it is not actually a State Service flag. I don't know what it is to be honest? But it would appear to look a period item and not a repro. Are there just rings down the one edge?

      Cheers, Ade.

Hi Matt, thank you Matt. I really like to answer a question if I can, I just wish I could add more for you.

I would agree with the description about it being a banner / drape as opposed to what I would think of as a flag proper. I like the look of it too and it would make a great display item if you have the space to show it off correctly

          Cheers, Ade.

Well, I'm no flag expert by any means, but I like it too! Very neat piece. I've never seen one like it, either. If the price is right, jump on it!

                  Best Regards,

                  Jason

Matt, I don't think drapes and decorative pieces like yours can be identified in the same way as proper flags like a Reichsdienstflag or a Sturmfahne. Drapes like yours were created and used to make locations such as lecturns or rally pulpits a focal point for the party. The eagle was the national symbol. I a not aware of any catalog of these or regulations governing their design as was the case with the above listed flags. Similar drapes have been shown on other forums along with period photos showing their use. It is a neat period piece, but that is about all that can be said.
