Advice on purpose for this banner?

Any thoughts on the purpose for this flag/banner?

It is 11" by 5 3/4" and has a faint makers mark on the back.

Had it checked out by a local collectors textile expert and passed his inspection and the black light test.

I would say it is a Army item going by the eagle.

Odd looking eagle - doesn't strike me as German made, especially with the oriental knot at the top!

OldFlagsWanted.com

I had a veteran collector who is a textiles specialist check it out yesterday and

he thought it was genuine. Even did the black light test to check it out. Arran your thoughts?

The hanging bar at the top could have been added by anyone though.

Suggest you look at what the correct Wehrmachtadler design details actually consists of, which is unlike your eagles head, wingtips, legs and feet, bulging right breast, etc. No matter what the material is, the eagle you show is just not the quality of an original Third Reich made piece! But then if you like it - to each his own? For some examples see...
repro helmet
