    War Trophy

    Hi Folks,
Not a flag guy, would like opinions on the originality of this flag or banner, not even sure what it would have been used for. Could not find Alfonte listed as a maker.

    Regards
    Kevin

Likely double sided as it has roped ends....Means it was meant to be hoisted on a pole or a mast......Looks good with the signatures on it.....I'm not familiar with Alfonte but looks to be a party flag......Perhaps OFW will know the maker...Bodes

IMO "Alfonte" is not a maker, but rather I suspect either
the place where, or GI surname of who captured it.
A closer inspection of the GI signatures might help too.

I believe you are right OFW, at first I thought Alfonte was stamped, but looking at it closer it looks like it was done with a pen. Pops up as a surname when you google it, but can no place by that name.
