    Japanese Rising Sun Flag WW2???

Is there any way to determine if this is actually a period World War 2 flag?

It looks (and smells) old. The photo makes it look newer than it does in person. The rope ties seem to match other known WW2 era flags.

The troubling part is that most of the other flags that I have seen are hand sewn, and this flag is definitely machine sewn.

Would an authentic WW2 era flag be machine sewn?

    Any ideas?

              Hello mrec27777:
Stated 23x37 inch size is indeed close to a 1970's

Delta International fake, but I believe those were
screen printed with header grommets & no rope.
Flag in question appears well made, with correct
looking rope and header attachment. Although
hand sewn togethers are the desired type IMO.

Isn't the rising sun naval flag still used today at certain events? Sure I saw a photo on the Japanese forum of a ship flying it while in dock for some reason which made me look twice
