    Fahnenträger Gorget

    Can anyone please confirm whether these Gorgets were originally Silver or possibly a Gilt plated finish as this one appears to have been stripped back to the brass base metal and was wondering what the original finish should be? (Note: Photo does appear to make it look silver but in hand this gorget is clearly brass).

          Interesting thanks guys suspected as much, not mine but fortunately my friend (the owner) paid little for it so no great loss.

          Out of interest how would you tell a fake from an original and could these stamps have been added to Gucci it up? How detailed are the fakes?
