    Reproduction Luftwaffe Standards

I've been working with a company to have a reproduction Luftwaffe standard produced. Not having the equivalent of a car to drop on one, it was my only option. Here's the sample that they have sent to me. They put the flag pole wrap on the wrong side , but otherwise, it looks pretty darn good. This defect is being corrected on this one so that it will be correct. It is 90% to scale as 48" wide silk is nearly impossible to find. But, even as a repro, it really is dramatic and would really jazz up a Luftwaffe display.

      Nice, Jack!
      Any estimate of the cost?

Bill, not really sure yet. It won't be cheap. But, it's about 3 times the size of the Heer swallowtails. I should have a better idea very soon and will let everyone know.

          Hello Jack,
Before they get too far into it, you should supply them with a good photo of an original eagle--this one looks terrible compared to an original. If they re-do the eagle, it would make a great display piece!

Erich, I agree. They had good photos of the head, but did it a bit odd. They'll be working on that part.

Old, it was never meant to be perfect. I was actually glad that they were unable to obtain the correct width material, so, no doubt about it not being original should they correct the other flaws. They did a couple of things on it that I want improved. One being the rays behind the disc. That's got to be fixed. I'll see what it looks like after a few corrections are made.

With original standards going in the $20-$30K range, the possibility of owning a real one was not there. So, this is a stand-in.

                Hello Jack.

I hope to see you at the TMCA show this weekend. Will you have your sample with you? Would love to see it.

David, I won't. It was damaged in transit and winging its way back to Pakistan for some repairs and refinements.

I'll be at the show on Friday. Hope to see you there.
