Utrecht had nothing to do with Market Garden. It was liberated May 7, 1945 by British and Canadian troops.
Market Garden was in September 1944.
Maybe the persons memory was not best! Nijmegen and Utrecht were not that close-by. Must have been another town then Utrecht.

Hi guys, I have spoke to the son he is 100% certain of Nijmegen bridge and his father being in the first tank to cross it during market garden, but he is going to check with his brother about Utrecht town hall but hes sure its from there unless he took that at a different time than market garden , rgds Dave
