Based on the look of the fringe and corner patch, it's not real convincing. Flag could be real but enhanced accordingly. Close ups of the key elements would be very helpful.

I would think this should be a first pattern flag but even though folded, it appears to be a second type.

      paulj:
      Interesting observations and comments regarding
the Deutschland (1935) VT-SS "II/SS1" flag in question.
On this flag SS runes appear narrow & canted backwards.
Ulric/Bender DE book, on page 143 shows VT-SS-SBF's
on parade, showing larger SS runes (above Bn Roman
corner patch numeral bottoms), and on page 210 mobile
swastika VT-SS Rgt 2 also with taller and thicker SS runes.

      corner patch SS runes...

from previously on the WAF ...

        "...Deutschland (1935) VT-SS "II/SS1" flag in question...
SS runes appear narrow & canted backwards." Period
photos are "...showing larger SS runes (above Bn Roman
corner patch numeral bottoms)", & "...taller and thicker SS
        runes."

(below) From WAF t=365147 post #12, LAH & other VT-SS DE & SBF patches,
as shown in Mollo's SS book series - likely the fake source of canted SS runes.

(below) From WAF t=365147 post #8, the 1933 LAH SS-SBF battalion flags.
