By the way it's "Balken" meaning bar as opposed to Balkan(s).

Yeah I think everybody is okay with them now. Here's another photo that I found on WAF that proves that not only did they exist but they were used. This is one of my favourite flag designs.

Wonderful photo. As stated, it proves they were used. These raised mixed opinions, particularly among younger collectors, regarding their authenticity as being from the WW2 era, and then, after a photo of GI's holding a captured one surfaced, of their actual use. Well done!
