    Reichsluftschutzbund Unit Flag

Here's a nice example of a Luftschutz unit flag for the Niedersachsen command, for the city of Hiildesheim. It came with its capture paper.

details. Interestingly, the lower most ring was moved to the upper corner to hang the flag horizontally. I presume this was done by the GI to display it at home.

        Awesome flag, Paul.
Looks like thats what someone did, took bottom ring off and attached at corner to hang.

                Hello paulj:
Indeed you found a nice red RLB at the SOS, bravo!
Here is a blue one I had in my collection back in 1970's,
when I decided to no longer collect corner patch flags.
So I let it go, switching to world wide military unit flags.
Blue RLB flag was wool with cotton star with a burn hole.
Always interesting to see again things had decades ago.

(below) My blue RLB, wonder where it is today ???

Thanks for posting the blue version. It's not nearly as impressive as the red. It appears printed as opposed to embroidered.

Indeed not as nice as the Red RLB, but sewing is/was
as lettered in my vintage Polaroid posted photos - star
in cotton zig-zag applied and rays outlined same way.
Still in many years of collecting the only one I've seen.

Thanks for posting. I have to admit I've only seen a couple in blue. Interesting corner patch, as well.

                        Red RLB Flag

Holy Smokes! That is a stunner. I would much rather own the red vs. the blue. Thanks for posting.

Yes, this is one of those cases where optical impact trumps rarity in terms of collector appeal. As a flag collector, I wouldn't mind owning a blue one but wouldn't pay a premium for it.
