Part of a Standarte or a Hood Ornament?

Gentlemen:

While I only collect certain types of German helmets, I was recently approached by a guy who, I believe, does not collect militaria and asked me what this was. My initial response was that it appeared to be part of a Standarte (he thought it was a hood ornament). Anyway, can anyone tell me what this is and what is a fair market value for this? Auto Fender flag pole top ???

From the fine detail, nice markings, and what looks like a small overall size based on the proportions of the screw threads to the upper eagle section,
I would say it was an auto fender flag pole top, well worth $300 of more!
