    A pile of KM signalflags

I got a bunch of old signalflags, but they all bear different markings they seem to have the same size. But there are diffferences between the several markings, some in centimeters some indicated as Gr I or Gr II.

Most flags are quite salty, ruststains rips and tears, but constructionwise they look good.
The only fear I have at this moment is that some piece of s**t remarked the flags. So I hope someone can help me out on these.

    1. All the flags together

    2. the construction of the rope attatching to the flag:

    3. Indication of size in centimeters and KM mark

    4. some of the several markings

    5. KM Marking

    6. Swastika and M marking

    7. another

    8. Some of the markings are allmost completly washed out

    9.

    10.

The battery of my camera runned out, so this is all for now. What is your opinion on these flags?

    thanks,

    Michiel

I took a second chance this afternoon, I really to had iron a few of them because they where impossible to take a clear shot of them.

    1. (a unlisted one in der signalgast), according to the flag itself it's meaning is "red".

see also post #30 and #31 of this very informatif topic of OFW
Who made the flags - topic

    2. International flag, "Zeppelin" (or modernday Zulu);

    3. Int flag "Ludwig", not clearly maker marked.

    4. Nat "Fritz"

    5. Nat "Ypern", maker: Klinger?

    6. nat Ubel (multipiece construction)

    7. Nat Caesar, multipiece construction

    8. Int Emil, printed

      10. Nat Nordpole

      11. Nat X, hannoverische fahn.... as for maker? Seems to be they are still in business. First item I found from them is from 1894.

      12. same maker as # 11 "gegensignal" 2 pieces, both same markings.

      13. "Rot"

        (sorry for the interuption)
the continuation of No. 13, it has the triangle WFT brandmark on it
        it's the national "Rot" signal.

        14. "Grun"

        15. Schwarz

last but not least, a segeltuch cover for the colorflags.

thanks for watching, when one has more info or a good/bad feeling/opinion, please share! Flags and their markings are not really my cup of tea, I don't even own a RKF

Haha, well thanks!! In this case it was more like stupid luck. I tend to limit my bald brutality (call it stupidty) to buy things on limited knowledge. In this case it turned out good, eventually it turned out good!

Thank you for watching, I'm on the lookout for a period (or vintage) piece of rope to display the flags. I appriciate your opinions!

                          Those are super cool!
I would press them out and string them at the top of a wall like a border.
                          What a find!

Very nice collection! Here's a photo my Dad took when serving on the Meteor in the Baltic Sea in 1940. The signal flags had been washed and were all being hung to dry. Any matches in the collection?

                            Best regards,
                            ---Norm

Superb multi-signal flag flying display photo - Bravo!
Noting larger sizes in use, vs "nice" smaller set posted.
