DE bird, wreath, and swastika are hollow, tube
mount base should have box mount holes.
Photos worth a thosand words, so post some.

I believe there were at least two different tops with one eagle being squattier, so i am assuming they changed the design somewhere along the way as they standardised the standards tops. Flagman what you say about that? They also fake em heavy, so knowing the difference is important if spending serious jack.

                  more about DE eagles ???

Nice examples of the short & longer leg DE eagles
are shown on the front/back covers of the Ulric/
Bender DE book. I've yet to see a quality hollow
cast replica of either of these original configurations.

thanks loads for the addl. input. they are sure amazing objects.

are originals all fire gilded or - far less likely I suspect - gold-leaf'd?
