Kriegs Flag

I just bought my first Kriegs flag from the E stand size 100x170 and I am really interested to know from the experts here what this flag size was used for or how it was mounted. I am also wondering what are the differences between this flag type and the Kriegmarine type as they appear to be similar.

I am not an expert as you can guess from my question and have recently started this hobby of collecting 3rd Reich military items.

For example see WAF t=544987 & "wmtf" thread
t=427262 examples, i.e., KM eagle-M stamp usually
denotes the flag meets sea service high wind use,
but a flag can have extra sea service sewing & still
not have an eagle-M stamp. Likewise, sea rated flags
were also used on land too, so just depended on supply.
