Does anyone know why some flags and standards have Pole rings ,and some have snap clips ??? i cannot find any info regarding this ...

IMO pole rings were the RZM specified trooped unit
flag mounting method, with snap clips being for use
on smaller or much larger flag pole sizes. Clip use did
allow for a flag to be removed from the parade pole,
rather than screwed to pole by 7th ring - easy removal
was not IMO a valor endorsed practice, why army unit
truppenfahnen were nailed to their trooping poles.
(below) removing a flag to save it was an act of cowardness.
