    Tropical car pennant

Guys so picked this one up the other day and am really happy to have it. Im not sure if its a Kriegs or Heer as its on a tan backing and the eagle appears to be yellowish in color. There is a stain where it appears something like oil leaked and stained the pennant through the cracked plastic like protective material. There is just a hint of tan paint left on the metal attaching/securing portion. Love to hear your thoughts on it. Matt

as stated the thread appears to be a yellowish white, so maybe just white thread that has turned a bit yellow with age and what not. Matt

        Hello asm:
IMO it appears to be army gray based on what
looks like a surface hole showing the inside color.

(below) Like loop leg eagle example from WAF thread t=89778.

That eagle is a perfect match, so Army for sure. How rare is it to find these on the tan base cloth? I bought it because it was on tan and not the common gray background. Matt

IMO this army pennant was soil stained to brown,
originally it was gray, as already noted by the hole
damage showing the inside. Case edge, plastic cover
window, and pennant material all appear dirt soiled.
By just what soil, who can say?
            WW2 period US Army
European African Middle Eastern Theater of Operations
campaign ribbon contains the color brown and green
for Europes mud and foliage, the tricolors symbolizing
service in Germany (black-white), Italy (red-green),
and France (red-blue) - as defined by the USA IOH.

              OFW,

my only thought is that it faded that much from the sun. There is a luft visor that was just posted on the forum but listed for sale at oakelafmilitaria.com that once was blue but faded so much in the sun that it turned it brown. Could be the same with this one, either way im confident its a Heer one that saw tropical use. Thank you for your insight. Matt
