DAF Flag patch question

Hi Guys, have a question on this Flag, why is the corner patch sewn on horizontally and not vertically?
No signs of any other stitching remains.
Was it meant to hang this way, or maybe a sewing mistake?

This is a Kreis level flag and apparently configured to hang in an office. It's unusual but if there are no indications that the patch was moved, it seems to was concievaly made that way.

Some SS flags that came out of the Czech Film studio had the patches turned to be better seen in movies. It wasn't done with great care and old stiching can be seen. However, if the alteration was done professionally, it's possible that old stitch marks would be carefully closed and the impression of the original placement ironed or steamed out.

In any case, it's an interesting piece.

An interesting flag. A similar vertical hanging DAF flag sold on e-stand in mid-February this year. I believe it sold for around $350, but don't quote me on that.
